And started siphoning money from woke dumbasses, can that person get in trouble for fraud? Asking for a friend.

Depends.
Key would be to never say you're actually giving the money to the family. Register an LLC called Justice and Equity or whatever, pay yourself to be the CEO, and send out strongly worded tweets.

all depends on how you word it, words matter
thats why "may" and "could" are used a lot by those who are smart. that way, you never stated it for a fact, you only suggested it could be
