But preferred home defense is always my 12 gauge.
I've heard the .12 gauge gives a number of advantages.
1. It sprays it's shot. This is important because if someone breaks into your house in the middle of the night it's going to be dark and you're probably going to be still not at your sharpest having just been woke up. Thus a shotgun, especially if the barrel is shortened gives a better chance at hitting them with a debilitating shot.
2. The blast and concussion of a .12 gauge going off in an enclosed space will be both a massive shock and blinding.
3. Then there's the distinctive sound of a .12 gauge pump being racked. If someone has broke into your house and they hear that sound come from the darkness, there's a good chance it will scare them to the point of getting the hell out of there. Course there's also the chance that sound will make them turn in whatever direction it came from and opening fire themselves.

I mean it's easy to say that you would, but i would only recommend doing it as a last resort.
I know a guy who had a drunk person break into his apartment and was yelling and angry because he thought it was his apartment. My friend pointed a gun at him and told him to GTFO.
It was some drunk retarded frat boy. If he killed him, it could have led to years of trials and court cases, and grieving family.

The real answer is we probably all have no clue how we'd react unless we've been in a similar situation.
This, you do not know how you will react until it happens to you.

Nah man it could just be a prank

I've shot thousands of rounds through my Glock without a jam and projectile tech these days is far superior to that of even 10 years ago.
I use to have a Ruger P89 9mm and loved it. She was reliable shot after shot for the better part of 20 years. Still, semi-autos can and do jam. And they do it far more often than wheel guns.

Hell, even the FBI is going back to 9mm. I don't trust myself to be dead accurate during the adrenaline rush of an engagement so the more rounds the better
There's a lot of new types of nasty rounds hitting the market all the time. Have you seen the "RIP"?
I was at the gun show in B'ham this past Saturday and they had a piece of ballistic gel set up with one of these in it. Think it was a 9mm or maybe a 45. The wound this thing makes is just nasty. This is about what it looked like...

That's pretty gnarly.
They make a similar 12ga round too.

No need to call the ambulance. Just send for the corner. Damn.

You walk outside and fire a warning shot. Only answer.

Yeah, I don't think there's any coming back from a .70 cal hollow point

So they're in your house and you walk outside your house, leaving them inside your house, and you fire a warning shot into the air? How is that supposed to scare them off?

Uncle Joe Biden told me it was cool to do it

As long as they're not fleeing, yes. You can't shoot them in the back, but you have no duty to retreat from your own home (at least in Louisiana).
Posted on 5/24/16 at 5:27 pm to Mr Personality
No, you should ask them to sit down, then offer them your wallet, credit cards, keys to your car, then discuss how hard it is for them in life and how they should be taken care of my the govt and the people of this country.
Then, give him something to drink, a sandwich, and then let him go on his way.
Sincerely,
Libtards

How brazen would a thief have to be to continue to enter the home while the alarm is blasting over 130 decibels? You'd think this is the reason people sleep with an alarm on. That's why people should have a monitored home alarm system. If they continue with the burglary, they more than likely know you and personally want to kill you.

Kill them then frick them

Unless you're a liberal and don't believe in protecting your family... you kill them. Otherwise, they will kill you, rape your family, and steal your possessions.

Seems like the best option. Don't frick with me or my family.
Zero tolerance for rapists and thieves.
Kill them and dispose of the body if no one knows about it to avoid the hassle.
Burglars don't tell anybody which houses they are going to, so how would anybody ever find out? Disappear that son of a bitch.

I'd rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6.

Better be careful. Retarded criminals these days would probably post pics of the robbery on Instagram.
