it's the sugar that makes you tire. insulin reaction.

This is absolutely true. There are so many people out there who are skinny fat, who think they are in good shape at a good weight and BF% because they don't look like the 600 pound bed ridden mom from Who's Eating Gilbert Grape?

But I actually think being skinny fat is worse than being fat-fat. Because skinny fat people delude themselves into thinking they are healthy and everything is OK. I know, because I used to be skinny fat and thought everything was OK and that I could eat anything. I was 205 pounds at 6 feet tall, which doesn't seem fat at all, but I was still over 20% BF. I lost 50 pounds and now am at 10% BF. Compare my before and after pictures, I was absolutely fat. It wasn't just my belly and body where I lost weight, but also my face. My face is a lot more sculpted now.

At 6' 185-190 is a healthy weight. Not sure about anything below 180.

Because they have no discpline or will power

Losing weight is a difficult, agonizing process. I went from 205 to 155 from September 2015 to June 2016. It sucked arse. But I stuck to the plan the whole way. Only had a few cheat days scattered in there.

It would have been easy to say frick it, this is good enough and stop at 175 or 165. But my goal was to get a 6 pack. I didn't stop at a predetermined weight on the scale, I stopped once I had a defined 6 pack.

You are 6' and weigh 155? Are you locked in a concentration camp?

i have underwent this transformation as well. didn't recognize myself when my face first tightened up. I have always been around 6' 180-190. Dropped from 190 to 175 and then started bulking up on muscle. face stayed skinny i had some chubby cheeks develop when i turned 30

6' 185-190 is kinda pudgy for me. I'm just under that now, working to 175 and see how that is.

It depends on how much of that weight is muscle mass and how much is fat. 6 feet/185 with little muscle mass is going to look fat. 6 feet/185 with a lot of muscle mass won't. It depends.

I know looking at my progress pics when I lost weight, when I was at 6'/185 I looked like a fat frick.

Here is a pic of me at 187(on the left) and 155(on the right). I was absolutely fat in the 187 pic, no doubt about it. Its not just the body, but my face too.

congrats on the weight loss man that kicks arse.

my only point was, for long term tracking of how much food you're eating, it's much easier to change your macronutrient ratios.

i was very disciplined with calorie counting and exercise, but it wasn't until i cut sugar, limited carb intake to well under 100g a day (now ave probably 35), and increased good fats to make up for it (all on top of my normal high-fiber, green leafy veg diet) that things really fell into place.

for ME, the discipline came in the form of cutting out the foods that were making me fat, not counting calories.

(I just grabbed Paul Allen's quote from your reply):

at 6', you can be well below 165 and not be underweight, depending on build and muscle mass/density. I'm 6' and at 165 now, and am about to embark on a get-swolt campaign and maintain muscle. I was blessed with natural tone, and i haven't done squat (and haven't squatted) to build more.

I am active but no longer, "exercise" or "work out." i was a runner until i tore a meniscus in a half-marathon followed by long bike.

about to get back in there though and resume my swimming routine I quit back in June because i was doing fun stuff outdoors. ski season is nigh also!

This is a really good point. I know I'm guilty of it. When you eat for practical purposes and not enjoyment, it can feel like a let down.

Find a butcher who has chuck-eye steak on the reg and learn how to cook it just right in iron skillet on stove and then in oven. Add bacon and bleu cheese and a salad or butter drenched asparagus etc.

A $6 fast-food meal that makes you skinny.

truer words have never been spoken. It's a daily battle for me. I bring my lunch 3 out of 5 days a week, but I think the whole experience that's goes with eating out is addictive
