Nope, Jesus is right...his kingdom is in the next world...most shite in life matters very little, except not crapping on your fellow man too harshly

5th grade science class should make you question your religious beliefs.

I don't believe the things I used to believe. My faith there is a god has waivered, significantly. But the smugness of your statement is why I find many atheists as such complete assholes. There is a way to be a non-believer, without being a smug prick, believe it or not.

Additionally, your statement is wrong. There are ways to possess faith, and fifth grade science, without many (or even any) contradictions.

Questioning =/= not believing. That’s something the older generations can’t seem to fathom.

God created the heavens and the Earth. He created and is creating. Why would I believe that he only put intelligent life here?

Why would the discovery of other life in the universe change my view of God?

All that matters is that I know He created me and loves me despite my faults. One day I'll die, and by His grace I will be rewarded.

Your statement, standing alone, is likely valid.

However, I believe, in the Page One comment I was referring to.. you have found a distinction without a difference.

But, I am happy to read your thoughts if you can clarify.

About 2 miles down the road from my home here, there is a medium size church that has a congregation where a significant number of the members have a PhD in one of the sciences, what is that they know that you didn't learn in 5th grade science class?

If you believe other planets exist it doesn’t matter if aliens exist. If you believe God created the universe which clearly exists, why would it matter if there was life?

I think anyone to goes through a basic class of biology could make someone question antiquated teachings. I think it’s very important that the church modernizes their teachings, otherwise you’ll continue to have a decline in faith. Apologetics is arguably my favorite class I have ever taken and it’s probably a subject that needs to be introduced at an early age.

This generation is a little more curious than its predecessors accepting the “just believe it because I say so” mentality.

Thanks that seems like a reasonable answer. For those that said no and why would it question your faith in God I get that, I don’t think that would be what would be the issue though since God would be this ever present being across the entirety of the universe. The Bible/Koran/etc would be a different story since it is very Earth centric and revolves around humanity. Looking at it as if the teachings here on Earth are how a creator relates to us specifically and the aliens would have their own teachings would be understandable.

Another question, do you think that the aliens would follow the same morals that we do? Don’t kill seems to be an evident one that one would guess is universal, but what about the more nebulas things like no eating pork, homosexuality being a sin, premarital sex and stuff. Would those be a human centric moral code and the aliens have their own unique to them? If so, why?

LOL. What?

Are you seriously implying that no one that calls themselves religious should ever question tenants of their faith?

Wow. I don't even know what to say.

And why is this thread anchored?

Guess some admin is a holy roller that doesn't tolerate discussion of his Lord and savior....

You don’t understand what religion is all about then

If you think waving your hands and kneeling on the ground differently than some other group is what religion is all about then I feel bad for you. You do realize what God is right?
