We have a group of birds that have set up shop in our chimney. I’ve tried building a fire and smoking them out, no luck. Any other ideas appreciated!

Well they’re probably dead now from smoke inhalation.

Get a long heavy duty chain. Put it through the top and shake it all around

Just wait until the babies leave then go remove the nest (if possible) put a screen to block them for next year

Those shifty little chimney sweeps are good for live practice.

There should be a place at the bottom of that chimney designed to contain and support a fire. I’d start there.

Edit: Yes, I read that you tried a fire. Apparently the birds are more persistent than you.

Put a rat snake in your chimney. Despite the name they love birds. He'll climb out when he's done.

Gonna have to wait til fall when they migrate. Probably Chimney Swifts. Get your chimney capped before next spring. You might have Bats in there as well, which are notorious for having rabies

Should he do the hokey pokey too?

Isn’t that what it’s all about.

I made a wire mesh insert to block the top then burned oak logs until chirping stopped

Get those “after 4th of July sale” mortar cannons. Video for profit as flaming birds try to escape.
