Neighbors said the house was a "party house" with lots of noise and late night parties.
We now know that the dead young man didn't live there but at a frat house a block away.
Daily Mail seems to have someone out there reporting before the PR talkers.

That was my theory based on absolutely nothing of substance

I don't know if the Marines still use KA-BAR knives, but I was given one as a 50th Birthday gift. I've never attempted to kill anyone with it, but it certainly looks like it could do the job. It's a large, heavily bladed weapon. I swear, it must weigh 2 lbs. You could stun, if not kill, someone with the butt of the a KA-BAR. No blade necessary. But then again, they were designed as fighting knives for the USMC.
Its a 7 inch knife
Yeah
You can easily kill someone with a 7 inch knife
Of any make

University of Idaho victim's father says Xana Kernodle had 'bruises,' put up a fight against killer
University of Idaho homicide victim Xana Kernodle's father, Jeff Kernodle, said his daughter had "bruises" on her body indicative of putting up a good fight with her attacker in an interview with an Arizona news outlet.
Xana Kernodle, 20, was killed in the early morning hours of Nov. 13 — along with her boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, and two friends, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves — in a home on King Road in Moscow, Idaho, near the university. Police have not mentioned any suspects or a motive as of Thursday.
"Bruises, torn by the knife," Jeff Kernodle told Arizona news outlet 3TV/ CBS 5, adding that her injuries showed signs of putting up a fight against her attacker. "She’s a tough kid. Whatever she wanted to do, she could do it,"
He also told the outlet that the door to their home "locks with a number code."

Have there been any Foxy Knoxy sightings in Moscow?

Was def thinking it was the Uber driver waiting on them and then when they walked off said, “oh, well, I’m leaving. They can call someone else. I’m not waiting on them.”
Uber has standard security for all of their drivers. When a driver chooses a customer to pick up, he has to stick to the route. Any deviation from the route or long period without movement automatically alerts Uber security who will then begin to ping the driver. If the the driver fails to respond, Uber will contact local authorities to check on the well being of the driver. He couldn't have been their Uber driver because waiting around that long would have triggered Uber's security protocols.
He was most likely some random guy in the bar they were friendly or flirted with but had zero interest in once they left the club. Could also just be some random guy one of them had a class with. He hung around to shoot his shot, but missed his chance. It happens

Read that the murders 'were gruesome' in the Idaho press, so not ODs. Initially reported as a 'crime of passion or robbery gone wrong.' What's really bizarre is that two additional female roommates (six bedroom house) didn't report anything until around noon and the 911 call was reported as an 'unconscious person.' Very tragic for these families.
The roommate who called 911 did it. She drugged them all when they got home with something. Then, murdered them all except the roommate that was asleep in Her room on the floor. She cleans up, gets rid of everything, then calls 911 to say her roommate sleeping on her floor is unconscious. Then police arrive and find everyone else dead and she acts along. Then has her mom throw the memorial/vigil, last night, to throw them off track.
Toxicology report will be key if this was the case

Damn… I imagine the killer got her bf first & that woke her up. What a terribly sad situation

Uber driver is new suspect #1… jk
Bear in mind, Uber driver would have their address if they were headed home and they wanted to stop for food. Has Uber driver been cleared?

One of the girls called a guy named Jack 6 times from like 2:30am TO 2:45am
Also- the hoodie guy in the video was possibly named Jack S- not the same one she called. He was apparently kicked out of his frat recently and has a hx of anger issues. All of this is Reddit, so who knows?

I’m sure, but you never know with these local detectives. At least they have the FBI & state department assisting.
I watched the video with that suspicious guy at the food truck. Definitely seems like someone they need to bring in for questions.
New details about Xana putting up a fight with the killer… makes me wonder if they would also have scratches or bruises.

Question of the day: Who is Jack
*Jake was Maddie’s ex
Seems like Jake & Maddie were actually still a couple based on reports from their parents. Some one early on said something about the “ex” did it, but I’m
not sure who they were referring to

How were they able to determine that it was a crime of passion so quickly? Who exactly made the call? Were they found murdered in bed? What makes the guy in the hoodie a suspect? I guess no security cameras in the home. Do they have the uber guys name? Did they use the same to and from the food court?

Actual random acts like this are extremely difficult to solve
Hell most cities in the US have a murder close rate that is well below 50%. Not even solve rate. Just close rate.

Right? And no matter how proficient you are with the knife, I'd think there's a good chance you'd end up with some cuts yourself- particularly if the 6'4"boyfriend was found in the hallway as described- he would've put up a helluva fight.

Again though Uber has security protocols that must be followed. Any deviation from the route or extended periods of not moving automatically trigger the safety protocols. The driver simply can’t detour over to a food truck and wait around for 20 or 30 minutes before resuming the trip…. I only know this because the last time I got someone an Uber they convinced the driver to make a quick stop in the opposite direction and then left him sitting in the parking lot for 25 minutes. The Uber driver began blowing my phone up to contact the person that was getting the ride because Uber security was blowing him up and preparing to send the police to his location.
