Had the Spanish lake basin not been drained prior to the August 2016 flood, thousands of additional homes in the Bayou Fountain watershed would have also flooded. That Aqua Dam will cause massive damage in SBR if deployed in another flood of the magnitude of what we saw in 2016.

Why are people building homes in obvious flood zones?

Where exactly would he deploy these dams? I’m looking at google earth trying to figure out locations that would be impacted.

Because they want granite counter tops and stainless appliances and buy crap land to build the house on....IDK
The thousands I reference are not in obvious flood zones, this is neighborhoods such as U club, Santa Maria, CCLA, Fairhill, Spring Lake, etc... that would have seen quite a bit more water had it not had a place for it to go south.

e's right. EBR developed their side of Bayou Manchac w/o concerns for Ascension and Iberville Parishes.

Is pumping the water to the Miss River an option? Seems like that would help EBR, Ascension, East Iberville, and Livingston.

He use to be a lot bigger than that. He had the surgery years ago.

So is there any other alternative “fix” that would benefit both parishes?
EBR should kick Iberville's arse back across the river. Then they wouldn't have to worry about it. Who are they to think they get land on both sides of the river?
