Direct hit for Tampa? Internet says 101 years.

Ida was not direct hit for BR, but it wrecked a lot of stuff in BR. Close sucks too.

Yes, that's when Tampa Bay (the actual bay) was emptied.

Not sure how accurate ICON is, but the 0z run had it brushing the western edge of Cuba but now the 12z run shows it hitting the edge of the Yucatan.

Irma ran up FL and went through Plant City in 2016.I am west of there and got 105 mph, with a couple 120 gusts recorded at one airport.

Irma drained Tampa Bay, pushed all the water out of it. It was the damndest thing.

Am I reading this map correctly The red x is the one that will form 90% possibly hitting Tampa or Texas but behind it are 2 lining up in and off Africa that could be fun?

The ones that worry me for the Bay, NOLA, Lafayette are the ones that go between Cuba and Florida or curl right around Western Cuba.

I'd love to see some pictures of that. I bet it's wild.

The first yellow X will most likely recurve. The yellow X over Africa will barely make it off the African coast before it heads North. That's why you see a North/South oriented area of interest on the NHC outlook.

Has the Gulf cooled any? That is the other thing that worries me with the water so warm it will kickstart something into that big one we don't want to see again.
