They are in Miami, Tua'ing around.

We are steady aboot 25 mph, with some occasional gusting, guessing in the 40's. Heavy rain, off and on. Not too bad, so far.

I wish they made some of these observation stations better. The Naples GOM tide station hasn’t reported in 3 hours, but when it did it was 6.25 ft over predicted tide. Winds were only gusting to 60 kts when it failed.

Not even trying to compare to what the Floridians are going through......I'm on my drillship +/- 200 miles west of the storm and we're shutdown with 15-17' seas with occasional 19 footers.

For those who don’t know official landfall is when the center point of eye breaches coastline.

Hey neighbor! Yep palms are tough; not a good sign. You on the canals? Most of those folks cleared out following the initial Tampa model runs.

I’m more interior…. my problem is a long lake fetch in the exact direction of the winds.

*RARE* first person view of storm surge. This camera is 6 feet off the ground on Estero Blvd in Fort Myers Beach, FL. Not sure how much longer it keeps working. You’ll see it live only on ?

They usually do fine. They let them spin in direction of wind

Tons of them were up for Ivan in GS/OB and none fell as far as I know

He’s not lost, he went to support his brother on Sanibel.
