I took the Chantix path

So neither of y’all experienced the psychotic break that’s sometimes associated with that stuff? I had a friend that took that stuff and he disappeared for like 3 days. No contact with wife or kid..nothing. Motherfricker just went completely native.

I quit smoking but I love Copenhagen now. Oh well at least I can breathe, exercise, and don't stink.

I am 19 weeks smoke free. I got pneumonia back in March and since I couldn’t and didn’t want to smoke for two weeks while I had pneumonia I just quit. I used the patches for about 3 months and also the gum. I am off the patches but still may chew 2-3 pieces of Nicorette gum per day. Sometimes I will realize at the end of the day that I didn’t even chew any gum but that’s mostly on weekends. I do get the urge to smoke a cigarette whenever I am drinking but other than that it has not been too difficult. Good luck man. The biggest thing for me is not being a slave to the habit.

Anybody else ever tried to do this?

No.

But one time when I was 12, I rolled a bunch of brown fallen leaves into a piece of computer paper and tried to smoke it.

It sucked.

This is where you're making your mistake. Vaping is just like using a patch. It's about maintaining your nicotine level in the body. Hit it as often as needed. It's not like a cigarette where you may smoke one every hour.

You should not be having withdrawals. Over time you'll slowly lower the nicotine level of the vape juice. The carcinogens in a cigarette is the first thing to leave your body while vaping. This should last about three weeks. You won't feel it happening. After six months to a year, you should be able to set the vape down and never look back. Good luck man.

What am excellent, detailed and informative answer! I quit cigs 7 years ago, cold turkey.

But now I know how vaping works, so thanks! Not that I plan to vape, but I do like adding knowledge.

NOT ONE LONGTERM HEALTH EFFECT HAS EVER BEEN FOUND FROM VAPING
What are you calling long term? Has vaping been around long enough for there to be a long term study on it?

Ecigs and vaping have been around about 20 years, with hundreds of thousands 10 years plus..there is no “ big tobbaco” backing vapors if the FDA could find anything and i mean anything these products would be off the market in a week, popcorn lung nope, COPD nope, cancer nope.. eventually there comes a time where its time to realize there is a lot more to be concerened about, smoking and obesity are two of them and vaping has been known to help with both.

I believe it depends on the individual. Some night I woke my wife up because I was laughing. I just used their 24 hot line only once. My believe I was ready after smoking for 40+ years. Bad decision I make at 16 and paying the price. Can do now what I use to do in my 40's. I be 68 next month. Onward.

I used chantix and had no problems but maybe some sleep issues for the first couple weeks. I was a 2 pack a day smoker who craved it with coffee, driving, and alcohol. I tried vaping but it just didn’t work for me. I literally tried several times actually with different vapes and hated it. Finally got chantix and took it for a month and haven’t looked back.

ETA: chantix gave me heartburn also, take Zantac with it and definitely eat some food and drink plenty of water
