Lived there for two years after graduation. Dated a girl who did not own shorts bc of the temperature. My first year I saw 126 inches of snow. Had people across the street complain they could see a Christmas tree in my apartment on the 10th floor. I watched Portland people protest a bronze statue of a family and a plaque from the 50’s out side of fire station.
Never. Ever again.
Never. Ever again.

I spentt three years in Northern Maine during the late 80s (Loring AFB), French (as a second language, handed down from elders) was still commonly spoken.

Ok, I’m confused. Someone from across the street complained they could see your Christmas tree? Why would they complain about that?
I’m 62 and certainly have not seen it all, but I never ever heard anyone complain about that. Hell, it’s not like Maryland isn’t California of the east.

35 isn’t bad at all, and having been in Houston with multiple days in a row being well above 100 degrees lately, give me Maine all day long.

Been up there a few times - winter and summer. I was mainly in southern and western Maine - loved it

5th district is like 60% white, dude.
Don’t need a majority to make a strong voting bloc esp when half those whites are guilty about their own existence.

Fortunately for the OP he went to Maine, if went to Vermont they would be liable to chase him out of town.
And watch out for that mailman.

There's a rock that has no earthly place in a Maine hayfield. There's something under it. You'll have to pry it up.

Ever noticed now those that love diversity end up wanting to mix groups that don’t welcome diversity?
Muslims and Jews.
Blacks and Hispanics.
Jews and blacks.
Women and …. Everyone else..

Maine is great in the summer. If you don’t like the cold, don’t go in winter. It is very cold, all the time. Still beautiful but it is bitter cold from November to to late March/early April.

went before covid, very good "summer" felt like spring, big huge stupid mosquitos that are like some demented joke in comparison to air sandpaper in Louisiana, food needs salt... would go every summer if I could
