What was in the girlfriends testimony?

Felt like he overreacted due to being drunk, being entitled, and not hanging out in urban environments like Nola very much. Also felt like he had anger issues since he was very possessive of her (would randomly check her texts) and hit her at hot tin right before he went downstairs to cool off or whatever he was doing.
They at the end did the whole “I’m not racist I have black friends” defense by showing us pictures with him and people of color.
He was doomed. Sounds like a real prince of a guy.

Man he was screwed with a jury thinking like this, no offense but now I see why 2nd degree murder was majority
Feelings aren’t evidence
But I do appreciate your insight and sharing, that makes for doing your civic duty

This thread will live in infamy after the verdict is tossed based on what’s posted here. IN!

I actually agree with you for once

What has been posted that you believe will get the verdict tossed?

She was very evasive and contradicted herself several times. Clearly did not want to be there and was visibly upset because they were really tough on her. As she was leaving someone in her party called Williams an a-hole. At any rate, she said he was a nice guy but drank too much and slapped her at the bar then left. She went downstairs to get her phone then left with a coworker who she later called creepy (defense tried to paint the co worker as an agitator because he had the hits for the girlfriend). Then she said despite being with ward for 8 more months that they never talked about the incident.

The jury doesn’t present evidence to explain their decision they are presented evidence and asked to come up with a decision. How you feel about the evidence presented is going to determine your decision.
This guy hit his girlfriend then beat the life out of another human. He is where he belongs.

100% and I’m pretty liberal. Also there should have been a change of venue. I’d have died on that hill above all else. I wonder if that was sought in pre trial motion practice?

We didn’t really take that into account to be honest. Everyone except one guy was very logical. Everyone who thought it was murder thought so because he didn’t have to kick him in the head if he was really defending himself. There was no more threat at that point.

11/12 people thought that the story that Jackson cut him while robbing him was a lie.
Why is that? Because the victim's history did not show any signs of violence or robbery?
Or was it because the guilty had a history of punching beggars of color because he is white, privileged man?
I withdraw the 3rd question unless it is relevant.
Last question, what was your theory on why he beat that man?

Sure, but OP hasn’t really explained any evidence and said it was 10-2 2nd degree murder with the jury, and using phrases like “entitled” and “wasn’t used to urban environments” is yikes
I just want to hear more about why/what evidence made him “entitled”, what evidence made him “not used to urban environments”, etc since there doesn’t seem to be a lot of hard facts it was just character testimony

Murder requires intent to cause death not serious bodily injury and death results. That’s the standard at least in Texas. It seems like neither side educated the jury on the actual legal elements of both charges.

I think Dunham, from what I have read

believe it was less than 10 minutes from when the woman called 911 while following ward to the garage before the cops and ems showed up.
So did cops or EMS do a BAC test on him at that point or soon after? Again, if he was pretty “blackout” drunk just 10 minutes prior I wouldn’t imagine he was super coherent or rational at that point (in regards to giving police a clear picture of events, explaining any pains or cuts he had, etc).
If no test, did cops or EMs testify to his mental state at this time. Was there any video or audio of this interview?
You have brought this interview up a lot as a big reason you didn’t believe him, seems important.

It surely doesnt help his case that he physically assaulted his girlfriend prior to beating a frail homeless man to death
