I want a pair of raw denim or selvedge jeans, learn me...

I have no idea of the weight I want, 14.5 oz maybe. I'd like a pair of Japanese denim, but I see that American companies like Oni use those fabrics as well...I'd think an American cut may fit better. I can't stand fancy stitching on the pockets.
Any advice is appreciated. Probably looking to stay ~$250. Figure I'll wear them without washing them until February or so. I don't even own a pair of jeans now, so this will be an only pair and I'd look to wear them for work. Super low key style, but as thin legged as possible.
Where should I look?
ETA: I ended up buying a pair of Unbranded 201. $82.

The guy in them, yes.
Just research Raw Denim jeans. They're thick, tough, and last forever. They aren't supposed to be washed. They are more like thick denim carhartts than anything.
Obviously the people at the place are a bit hipster, but the plain denim jeans are really bland. You can get regular fitting ones too.

After a quick google, I dont see the appeal. Sure they are supposed to last 1000+ washes, but at the price point, 4-5 pairs of Levis will do the same thing... Am I missing something?

Not really supposed to wash them too much. They come with instructions to do it only if absolutely necessary. Its like buying a really nice leather work boots. They eventually form fit you and last forever.
Pretty sure Imogene and Willie has a lifetime warranty on their jeans.
ETA:
And you'd have to touch them to realize the difference from Levi's or something like that. They are some seriously thick and strong material. Absolutely unwearable in hot months for me, but they are fantastic in the winter.

I'm always paranoid of spending too much on jeans. I've gone through many pairs just from lifting weights

I don't wear mine at all during warmer months, but I'll wear them constantly in the dead of winter.

I usually bring 4 pair of pants for a work week, if I could just wear the same pants everyday I'd lighten my load considerably. Not sure it's kosher to wear the same pair of pants all week, but I'm an engineer...so I have a built in excuse.

This.
The cheaper jeans have this done before you buy them. These start to fit you like a fricking glove. After breaking them in, they are the most comfortably fitting pants I've ever owned.
They are very $$ so I won't buy another pair unless these get fricked up somehow (and these were a gift).
