Check out Red Cotton Denim. It is a one-man shop in Los Angeles who makes selvedge denim jeans. I bought a pair and can say that they are better than the $450 pair of jeans I own. Right now you can buy a pair of his jeans for $125. "Click Here For Red Cotton Denim's Website"
The guy, Camillo Love, got out of the Navy and started making jeans out of his apartment. You can read his story on the website. I really like the jeans he makes, especially at $125 per pair.

These remind me of Toughskin jeans I had as a kid. They could take a beating.

Once you wear in your first pair, you can't justify paying $100 or more for standard jeans.

Yeah, I almost returned mine but figured frick it, they were only $100. Took a few days but they ended up stretching out nicely. Although mine ended up being too wide in the leg, I had to get them tapered. If I had to do it again, I'd go with the 101.
