Quite a few people made the common sense comment / question the other day of wondering why the hell we are waiting to open businesses when wal mart, Home Depot, etc are fricking packed every day
This has been one of the most frustrating things I've seen during this and I've been wondering from the start. We are letting these big arse stores stay open that let in tons of people, most who are trashy and dirty as hell. Meanwhile, small businesses are dying at a scary rate.

We have lost our country, and it feels like social media is playing a big part in it. We let these dumbasses have such big voices all bc they made a post on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. It's ridiculous the measures that our government has taken and how these stupid motherfrickers will believe them all in the name "safety".

If you haven't been able to see how incompetent our government has been during this, you're an idiot. Sadly, people are actually advocating for more government to "protect us". Such idiots. It's truly sad to see where we're at as a nation.

Are you telling me that some parts of our government got a little (a lot) of control and then doesn’t want to give it up? Shocked.

I'm glad you can tell the future. At the time the best evidence was that this stuff had at least the potential to overwhelm hospitals and significantly impact first responders if mitigating factors we're not taken. Don't forget the brute Force actions the Chinese took. That is evidence of it's lethality.

I suppose everything they attack with brutality is evidence of its potential to harm?

The Founding Fathers vision of freedom was for people to have the freedom to act like a responsible adult. That is all.

This notion that I can do whatever I want and the government shouldn't dare interfere is 21st century nonsense.

What does one of these have to do with the other? There's a name for this type of logical fallacy.

So much so wrong in so short of a post.

If you think the founders envisioned a nation where the government would shut some businesses down but allow others to operate, all in the name of "safety" your education system failed you. Bad.

Wanting to go to work to put food on the table for your family is doing whatever I want? Interesting I would say that is acting like a responsible adult

The most dea that the government can suddenly assume arbitrary power over the people like they just do d is utterly worthless Terrifying. The fact than many support are t es even more so.
It's easy to see how the Hitler's and Mussolini gained power.

That's how models and science work. However the models work with the best evidence at the time. Right now they say social distancing and other mitigating factors are inhibiting the spread and lethality of the virus. Until there is significant evidence otherwise a prudent person would stick to this notion before opting to change it.

Spoken like someone who hasn't lost their job and isn't being impacted by the shutdowns.
