I think this might be about the black vote.

Watching these two boobs dodder and gripe, it's clear that the DNC knows either will lose, badly. I don't think it's about turnout and lower tier/local races, because they will have lower turnout no matter who gets the nomination.
Bernie will cause a lot of democrats, especially upper class ones, to punt to 2024, and some might even vote Trump. A lot of hardcore butthurt Bernie bros will stay home if he is not the nominee, and have stated as much. Both scenarios are turnout nightmares for dems.
The only real difference between the two, IMO, is the black vote. With Biden, they get the usual 90%+ because he was Obama's VP. However, if it's Bernie, I really think Trump can surpass 20% of the black vote.
Dems have been painting Trump as a nazi racist, etc. so hard and for so long. They would run around with their hair on fire, losing their grip with reality if Trump got over 20%.
I really think that might be the real heart of it all.

Maybe so, but I don’t think Trump has anything to worry about. In fact, I envision a 15-20% increase in the AA vote for DJT this election
