quote:Yes because they are BAD PEOPLE. Evidence by them lying about asking for his ID.
So they just randomly rolled up on this kid with the intent to arrest him? You really believe that?

1. The way he answered was really a question, appeared to possibly be making up the name.
So he answered what his name was truthfully, but the tone was wrong...
quote:
2. He continued by mentioning a parole officer, so clearly he's under probation, it's possible the guy with the warrant was as well.
Assumption. And He mentions him when he says call them and requests to see the warrant, which the cops are obligated to show him if they truly believe he is Michael.
quote:
3. He failed to obey lawful orders from that point forward and resisted.
Cops were on his property and had the wrong person, did not ask to see his ID after he correctly identified himself, and did not show him the warrant.
I am out of this thread. This is absurd. Patrick should face absolutely no charges and should get an apology. The cop should be reprimanded on his official record.

You forgot to add that the police have to state why you are being arrested

nah, the horrifying thought is police officers having to do this day in and day out but they supposed to know who the good baws are or aren't as they go to montly funeral services for peers getting murdered in cold blood from situations identical. That's some pussy arse reasoning salmon cause you seen the end result of a video going in. IF i had stopped the video 15 seconds in and have you tell me what happens, you would have no fricking idea.
I can't

Exactly.. but if this is going to become common procedure to arrest first and found out later.. then that's awful.
Well if people would not run or shoot fricking cops then this would never have to be an option.
I'm saying this disconnect is just as much the citizens fault as the police.

Can you post this law?

I have no idea, just like I don't know why the guy slammed the door and resisted the police, before they used the taser. After they warned him about the taser.
Because he wasn't under arrest and was on his own fricking property minding his own business.
JUST ASK FOR THE ID.

This is why all warrants should be no-knock warrants. The citizens and police wouldn't have time for this kind of misunderstanding if they just busted in and handcuffed everyone and sorted it out afterwards. It would be safer for everyone.

So he's on probation because cops ruined his life? Or did he ruin it before this encounter?

You couldn't get the best film makers in the universe to make a better video showing you why cops are just plain bad people. Yet some how people still justify everything cops do.

Can we also point out that the first thing he says when he's asked his name is "Why ya askin that?" And he followed that up with a long "OK." So he was uncooperative from the start.
