If your posts are any indication, you don't add value to anything.

Very unreasonable.
The help would’ve went a long way with the big bosses.

Do you roll up to the CFO? If you do, then it doesn't matter what you think. Follow orders, or ship out.

You act like you’re the owner of this company…. You’re not so guess what?

Sounds like you are being a dick and just wanting the guy to look bad.

Egos are killer. Check yours.

I'm all for people earning their salary. My play would be help this new Sr. Manager get through the process on this one, but that's it. At that level, they have take responsibility for picking up what you're putting down so you can focus on your job.
Also agree with others stating this is moment to bank some brownie points for helping out. A "you can be right or do the right thing" scenario.

No.

The "that's not my job" people are the fricking worst and should have no avenue for promotion.
It screams pettines and immaturity.
Step up and be a valuable asset. If you're not rewarded for it down the line THEN go find another job where you're valued (which shouldnt be a problem if you're as valuable as you think you are).

This newly promoted employee has 10 years in the company, and makes as much as the Sr Manager, despite lacking several qualifications/experienced.
The way so many people claim to know exactly how much others earn….

If you’re not helping out of bitterness or resentment, yes.
If due to limited bandwidth, no.
If it’s the second one, your own manager should be stepping in to back you up in your decision now that the CFO has inserted themself. If they don’t, look for a new job at a company where leaders go up to bat for their team members.
Wanting to help and being able to help are different things. You can’t always sacrifice your performance goals so that someone else can achieve theirs.

The more you do, the more you will be asked/ordered to do. If I have to do someone else's work, I want their money.
Also, if the Sr Manager can't do the job they are bring paid to do, they should be fired as soon as it is discovered they are incapable of doing the job.

Do you care about your company at all? The “thats not my job” attitude is the attitude of a McDonald’s worker.
I’m sure the assistance they are asking you for is temporary, which makes your attitude even more childish. If one of my employees refused to do something I told them to do, I would can their sorry butt.

This phrase is a career killer.
Something along those lines can be used if you're being asked to do something beyond your area of expertise and can mess something up (ie I never touch electrical), but "that's not my job" is never spoken aloud. Throw some humor in. "Do you want it a little messed up or way messed up?

I would’ve handled it differently. They asked you to help someone. Wasn’t anything retarded either like picking up trash or attending an outside work event.

Ask how much you are compensated, politely.

The word is stupid not unreasonable. You were given the chance to shine and you refused. Why? You say it’s because have certain expectations? That’s stupid. It’s equally stupid to lose the opportunity to work closely with senior management. Who knows, they may have liked you and your work and advanced your career. Not now. Wonder what they think of you now.
Stupid.
Stupid.
