I don't know what these numbers mean, but apparently they're not so good:

LDL 171
HDL 47
TRI 197

I had surgery recently, so I can't get in the gym. Doctor is giving me a month to lower it without meds. Anything I can do to help? I already don't eat a whole lot of red meat. Yoga? Meditation? Diet? Exercise is out for at least the next month.

Cheerios? Their commercials claim to help.

Good luck man, your only option without exercise or medications is likely diet.

As long as it's going down, tell your doctor to frick off.......seriously. A long time ago my cholesterol was too high but was dropping slowly (and naturally) and my doctor at the time wanted to put me on meds; I told her no & she got pissed......I didn't give a shite........DON'T TAKE THE MEDS UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE!!!!!!!

The only nuts I eat are pistachios. I don't eat a lot of fried stuff. I do eat a lot of pizza only because my kids so and I'm usually eating their leftovers.

drop the pizza then.

what do you eat for bfast?

Up the amount of veggies you eat.

It sucks. I eat a mostly vegetarian diet and my cholestrol was high. I was like WTF? Anyway, I cut back on the cheese and nuts and it got in line.

Your triglycerides are very high. I believe that is a result of lack of activity.

how old are you?

I would worry about the tri's being so high. Messes with your pancreas, which messes with blood sugar levels and therefore every process in the body. How overweight are you?

Why Braggs? Is there a "purity" or something it needs to be to work?

And to the guy earlier--I don't eat breakfast. I typically eat a turkey sandwhich on wheat for lunch. With chips, hummus, and pistachios. Dinner is when I usually eat "bad." But it's not too bad. I usually make a big vegetable soup in the crockpot once a month. Lots of beans, tomatoes, okra, corn, carrots, and kale.

TRI 197

This is the one I'd be concerned about.

Get a particulate size test (to see exactly what kind of LDL we're talking about) AND a calcium score. If they're good, I wouldn't worry too much.

Otherwise (and you're not going to like this) - lose weight and exercise, baw. No substitute found for them yet.

Doesn't have to be braggs, that's just the one I use. Just get raw and unfiltered.

I started taking it for migraines after seeing numerous different doctors (which it cured)

As an unintentional by product it lowered cholesterol dramatically. Google it

Why Braggs?

Braggs has “The Mother” in it. You will see a cloudy film int he vinegar. You could add it to the below.

Did you take your reading in the morning fasted?

Get on SloNiacin 500mg with breakfast and 500 with dinner
start taking Arginine before bedtime, 10 to 12 Grams (not mg)
quality fish oil 3 G total EPA/DHA
3 Grams vitamin C

do a "Whole 30" which is a Paleo concept but works as an elimination diet. You will feel great and can slwoly add back things like bread and dairy to see if they make you suboptimal.
