Yes, he will rip away, hence the pinch collar. He does heel now and walk at my side but if he sees a bird cat dog rabbit he freaks.

Do you have a picture of him? What mix is he? This might help us understand his aggression.

Dogs are animals first. Not all of them are little warm puppies. I admire that you are trying to find an alternative, but you know the dog best. If it's capable of indiscriminate killing, it needs to be destroyed. That's the responsible thing to do. I don't envy you for losing a 5 year companion, but killing is more than just an inconvenience.

You need a choke chain, daily training routine with rewards, lots of patience, and strong Alpha control.
If three months of this doesn't change his behavior, you need to find a friend with lots of land who can just let him run loose.

Either try to break his aggression with shock collar and/or socializing while muzzled...or try to find someone who has land that could take him in. I'm against putting a dog down unless he's shown aggression towards humans.

Just find a way to keep him away from other dogs. Harness, fenced yard, etc.

Just sucks that he has traumatized two other dogs with his bullshite. I dont want to give him away...feel like he's my friend but the aituation we are in right now... he's not a family dog and my fiance is pretty scared that although hes never shown human aggression...whats to stop him from grabbing the baby one day. fricked up situation now that he's attacked a second dog.

When my youngest sister was a toddler, she tried to break up a fight between our family dog and a neighbor's dog. She got bit.

Giving him away > putting him down
And if you find him a good home with someone else, you could always ask new owners if you could come by and visit your old friend from time to time
