Another option would be to just make a numbered map of the plots, create a spreadsheet with Excel that list the plot number, who is buried there, dob, dod. Then you can edit the spreadsheet as needed. Most people have excel.

Good thinking, and the pdf and spreadsheet could be set up as google docs.

Is this strictly for existing information or will new plots be added?
I could go either way. I have the part of the cemetery that I took over done on Excel. The old part is written on a huge map that is on a kitchen table.

How much you paying, holmes?

You could just have the map scanned and saved as a PDF. It would be a huge file though. You could have whoever scans it save it as a jpeg too which you could save at a lower resolution so the file would be smaller. You would have to find the balance between size and readability but 72dpi would probably work.

I've never thought of the OT as the place to go for free shite.
You might try to offer a trade. What do you do for a living? I'm sure somebody might exchange services.
If not, I'm sure the OT has carpenters that would be interested in getting in on this trade. OT member drafter does this plot thing, OT member carpenter moves your wife's pole to an undisclosed location, and your wife "pays" for your drafting. Win win win win.
And don't worry about my consulting fee. I'm a politician; I get a piece of all of it anyway.

I'll do it for $100. I have experiences doing very similar CAD drawings.

Fairly easy.
With Google Earth and Autocad, it's a snap even without a survey. Google Earth for a baseline distance, insert an image (Google Earth or Bing) to Autocad, and start tracing. I could do it and have a PDF for you.
I can create PDF's for you both with and without the aerial in the background, and each plot (empty or occupied) tied with a legend to an editable spreadsheet. Planning ahead would be a good thing. You'd want each plot to be identified no matter if it were in use so that in the future, all you'd have to do to update for a burial is to fill in the blanks in the spreadsheet.

I was gonna suggest doing this either way. Dimensions aren't that critical with a cemetery map, you just want to get in the right approximate location. If he does get it drafted what I would do is drop the existing image on the plan and trace the plots to save drafting time.
Broke, I can scan it as long as you get me the map.

Done. Like I said, I'm not really looking to take on anything right now but having done something similar I don't mind offering my advice.

True story. I worked for Brown & Root in Houston back in the 1970s. One day a guy walked into our office and said he had a project for us. Our manager, noting this as odd but not wanting to turn down potential work, was polite and took the guy into his office to discuss the nature of said project. Seems the guy wanted someone to prepare plans for a carport, AND was willing to wait while they were being drawn. He even had a sketch to go by. The manager advised we didn't do that kind of work and escorted him out.
For perspective, our project was ~$300 million in 1970s dollars.
