People in the 80s said that they missed the 50s and that the 80s were awful
Not my experience.
They were amazed (and thankful) for new tech, like Betamax, Walkman’s, or…4 the OG ballers - brick phones:

I was a teenager right in the heart of the 90's. ('94-'00) . I was in high school from '95-'99.
The 90s were my high school and college days. I started HS in 92 and college in 96.
80s were my childhood/young adolescent years. Not a bad draw in life.

80s were fun, but growing up in the 1970s was the best.
Better music and cheaper weed. I rest my case.

Best decade of my lifetime.

I was 20-29 years old. Best part was no social media.
Greatest movies, music, comedians, athletes & nightlife came from this decade.
Movies I loved...ET, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Rambo, Lethal Weapon,Top Gun, Die Hard, Karate Kid, Platoon, Ghost Busters, Rainman, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Beuller, Young Guns, Terminator, Caddy Shack, Hoosiers...
Bands I loved... Metallica, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Journey, Queen, U2, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Rush...
The fashion...hot chicks with big hair.
The athletes known by only their first names...Jordan, Magic, Montana, Payton, Marino, Bird, Gretzky, Hagler, Sugar Ray, Duran, Hearns, Tyson.
I was LMAO to Robin Williams, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin.
Oh man the bar scene...Texas Club, Electric Avenue, Rascals, Miami the Bar, Uncle Earls.
Now I'm depressed. Lol

The 80's in BR kind of sucked economically. It was hard to find decent employment for the average Joe.

Wish I could go back to the 80s with all my current video game consoles and current tv technology.
..all my friends would be so jealous. I'd bring a current Xbox series x and ps5 to Neo Geo headquarters.
Become partner at 8 years old.

Everything started going to shite when the initial united patiotism started wearing off after 9/11 when it just seemed like endless war, facebook started taking off and social media started destroying human contact, Apple delivered the iPhone where everyone was glued to a screen, and the rise of Nancy Pelosi/crazy dems ushering in the recession from their pushed policies causing the housing crisis. .
This all occured over like a 4-5 year period from 2003-2008.

The 80’s were better simply because people didn’t use this stupid term back then.

The Clinton administration caused the housing crisis or at least they bear the most responsibility for it.
I think 9/11 and the explosion of the internet in the early 00s changed American society quite a bit.

Remember the 60s man. Remember the 70s man. Peace Love Dope! The 80s were the yuppie years, consumerism ran rampant... frick all that!
I remember people in the 80's being nostalgic about the summer of 69. Standing on your momma's porch, knowing it was now or never.

I always heard the early 80s were great economically. Maybe mid 80s there was a recession and everything went up?
