Hahaha that one took me a second.
I just read that there are people in some places who actively help frogs/toads cross roads. I wish they had been out there last night - I was concerned if I pulled over I’d get hit seeing as there wasn’t much shoulder and the visibility was pretty bad.

One time I had a rabbit hop out in front of my car late one night and was just sitting in the middle of the road so I turned the wheels just enough so that my car would go right over him, but at the last second he hopped back in the opposite direction directly under my wheel. Heard him pop and felt awful at first for killing a cute little bunny, but the little bastard was clearly suicidal and did it to himself

I laughed. I was dating this girl really into saving animals for a little while. I was coming back from Houma to Thibodaux doing about 60. I was approaching technology lane in gray. Don’t even remember what the hell it was, but she started yelling out of nowhere about some squirrel I was about to hit. Scared the shite out of me. I immediately told her I am not wrecking or stopping for anything less than dog size.
Safe to say that was a short lived relationship.
