The owners care more about not starting dissatisfaction within their locker rooms than forcing their players to participate in the government worship song. And that's the smart decision to choose.
No, the owners care more about their pocketbook. They are cowards.

Either the owners agree with the protestors or they don't have the balls to tell the protestors to either stay in the locker room during the playing of the anthem or stand respectfully while is is played.
it's easy to say people have no balls or principles when it's not your check on the line.

Those poor oppressed players. This entire debacle just proves how low IQ the NFL is, both its players and its fans.

You sure seem angry at rednecks.
Are you racist?
Seems that way.

I'd be all for kneeling if any of them would maybe do something to actually help the cause. You're kneeling because cops are killing black kids? What about the black kids that kill other black kids every day? Teach your children to value their life and lives of others. Make them stay in school. Keep them off of the streets. If you're an NFL player, set an example. Go speak at schools. Hell, hold neighborhood events and encourage kids to come out and throw a football around. Establish leaders and role models in communities so kids have someone to talk to other than a parent. Teach them what they can become. Don't just kneel for 2 minutes and go home. What good does that do?

I much prefer the anthem over the pledge.

Iona, I also am boycotting professional sports and ESPN's so called "news shows" until somebody nuts up and puts an end to all of this.

By kneeling (as opposed to do anything substantive to address their supposed "problem"), they can get a bunch of retweets and get included in ESPN lists about who knelt for the anthem. Because they are just so brave. Welcome to 2017, where Twitter virtue signaling is the only thing that matters

Who cares what thy kneel. They should be able to sit, stand, kneel, take a shite. Do whatever they want when they play the national anthem just like everyone else in the stadium.
It's the faux-patriots making a big deal out of nothing.

And as long as the NFL allows them to, they can kneel. Doesn't make their reasoning any less moronic or the coverage of it any less annoying
But once again, they do not have an inherent right to do this. Only the owners permission. Private companies can (outside of the discrimination exceptions of course) mandate that their employees do whatever they damn well please. There is no private freedom of speech or expression

Because they don't do that all the time?

I bet that you are a poor millennial that's angry about your 60k in student loan debt. You probably work a register at Office Depot because nobody respects your Art History degree

They became good at sports so they could get out of their communities, not so they could help them.

The second amendment isn't just about hunting. It's about being able to defend yourself from your government.
But if you ever dare to sit during the government worship song, you should face very real consequences!
Trumpers are going full libtard over this silly shite
You'd have a fricking point if anyone was calling for you know jailing or otherwise using the government to punish these people. But they aren't and you don't.

So brave of Breaux to go speak to that disadvantaged group shown in the picture.
