names are like any other thing that's classic, most people get tired of them. Like classic cars, there will always be a few people that cling to them bc they have issues letting go.

The point

Cherry picking classic names that didn't hold up so you can say OP is silly for missing other classic names?

My cousin's little girl is named Hattie. Best of both worlds. Classic name that looks good on a travel ball lineup card.

I have a 2 year old and 5 month old. We named them Claire and James. They’ll probably get made fun of in school because of weird names.

I love George Carlin's routine on this

LINK

Carlin:
You want to hear a real name? Eddie. Eddie is a real name. Whatever happened to Eddie? He was here a minute ago. Joey and Jackie and Bobby and Phil. Bobby and Tommy and Danny and Bill. What happened, *Todd*? And Cody, and Dylan, and Cameron, and Tucker. Hi, Tucker. I'm Todd. "Hi, Todd! I'm Tucker." F*** Tucker; Tucker sucks.

You know? Yeah. There's another soft name for a boy. Kyle. Soft names make soft people. I'll bet you anything that ten times out of ten, Nicky, Vinny and Tony will beat the shite out of Todd, Kyle, and Tucker.

What ever happened to Saints names being the second name (in some families) or a family name being the middle name?

My son is named Henry and my daughter is Ella. Luckily my wife wanted traditional names. Her friend just had a son and named him Jaxon. I chuckled and told her he will be a beast at travel ball when he gets older. She didn't understand the reference

When my wife and I were deciding on names for the kids we both agreed that any names we came up with would be one that other people would not ask how to spell it and no shared names between boys and girls.

classic names

Look at the names of many people born 1900-1940

Very different from names after WWII

My sons have names found in the bible, the normal ones not the weird ones like Jebidiah.

Yeah but even across those 2 eras, they are real names and not just noises that parents come up with that sound good to them for travel ball but will hold them back in the professional world as adults.
