Some new paint, window treatments, and some flower beds and that’ll be a nice space

will be interesting to see what kind of house you're going to put up on a 2' x 100' lot

What is the downside to buying a house at an auction? Is it just the risk of buying ‘as is’?

Are you given any time prior to inspect or look at the house?

can be mitigated by doing a title search, checking for liens, inspection, etc.

Hope you have better luck than with your attempt to purchase a car. Sounds like you’re starting out better, at least.

Kerville Holness bid at a Broward County auction of tax-defaulted properties $9,100 for what he thought was a $177,000 villa. What he got was a 1-foot-by-100 foot strip of land. (Google Earth)

Stick to flying.

A title is clean once it goes through sheriff auction. The properties for sale at Auction.com and other RE sites are REO properties that have already gone through sheriff sale or are about to.
