kinda helps IF YOU PUT THE frickING TYPE OF CAR
edit to add...i was just watching the Thing vs Frozen Claymation video, that was just dramatic anger.
I ll run the numbers at my shop
66 bucks for ceramic front pads
81 front rotors
66 rear pads
83 rear rotors
R&R Rotor and repack bearings is 1.0 hrs @75 per side with a prorated labor for changing the pads because you would already be there or .25
our shop fee is 4 percent with a max of 50 bucks.
should have been about 200 dollars cheaper where you live and I would have nuked that place over a 118 dollar shop fee. That is robbery.

Shite, I've performed the following myself for less than $1600 total cost. All over the last 5 years
2007 camry CV axle assembly (with bearing) ($200)
2004 Sequoia Fuel Pump ($400)
07 camry A/C compressor ($205)
camry brakes and rotors ($200)
Grand Prix Power steering pump ($50)
Grand Prix side mirror ($110)
Grand Prix coolant elbow pipe ($5)
Grand Prix Alternator ($150)
I have moderate to noobish mechanic skills but that damn Youtube is a mothertruckin blessing!!!

I think the most ridiculous part of this post is that you own a honda ridgeline

Handed down. No note. Reliable. 245k with only Routine maintenance. Does what it needs to do.
Don't know what's ridiculous about that.

I have a 2006 Ridgeline also. Putting new brake pads on this vehicle is sooo simple. Next time get OEM brakes online. Go to You Tube and learn how simple it is to change them out. Takes < 45 min for front and back. They screwed you for $500 labor and you didn't even need new rotors, so they screwed you for those also. Dealers are ripoff artists.

Did he at least give you a reacharound?

I own a shop and I must say.....WOW
Posted on 3/5/15 at 4:17 pm to Puffoluffagus
did it at least come with vaseline for your buthole? lol
I can't complain. Since I took my company onto the Appliance Blue book (regional/national rate guide) we see 600% markup on certain parts. I still feel bad about it, but it's business and I'm still on the cheaper spectrum.
600% = 6x

My luxury dealership does not charge that much!
Posted on 3/5/15 at 4:21 pm to Topwater Trout
It's amazing what people charge for brakes when you consider how easy it is. I just did my womans car. Took me 2 hours and cost $150 for pads and rotors. Car still stops too and she hasn't been killed in a car wreck.
