not a trick...it worked for me but it may also depend on how bad the heat stain is, type of finish, etc...But, it's a heat stain so it should be able to be fixed, just have to find something that works for you.

It's a very short video and there are others like it. One from a guy in the furniture business who did the same thing. The risk is low because you can't make it worse than what it is unless you use heat that's too high.

I don't know what spot you're looking at. But it's a steamer pad. Not a towel

Gris, the downy wrinkle releaser must have been an ad because it didn't come up this time. I don't understand how that works because iron steam was what fricked it up in the first place

B&B, skillet was asking what fbd meant

I don't either, but a friend of mine did the same thing on an antique table I had at the time. I would have tried this first had I known about it, but I had the table completely refinished. I figure you can't be worse off and if it works, good for you.

Steam/heat rises. The moisture is transferred to the cloth.

That makes sense and this article says to use the steam setting on your iron to do it.

LINK

There are tons of articles on using the iron to get out heat stains/marks. I would assume it would work unless the damage is too deep into the wood or the coating.
