Watch a ETH YouTube video explaining the tech. Than watch an Iota YouTube video. Judge then but just because you can't grasp it doesn't mean it's not valuable.

I get the value of the tech, but I can't seem to understand why more than one should be expected to "win."

I remember people posting in one of the threads about how they're paying their kids private school tuition with bitcoin

"Sorry son you gotta go to public school with the future Angolans, daddy lost all the money on internet meme based digital currency."

I don't necessarily believe in "Bitcoin". I believe in block chain tech and the tangle. Most of the projects will be worthless but some will be valuable.

You can Google real world uses

I'm also playing the other side of it shorting the companies like RIOT and LFIN the past few days after they announced they were getting into blockchain as their stocks crashed after the initial overreaction of their announcement.

How are you shorting LFIN?

There is more than one use for the technology and most of these groups are focusing on one or a few.

There will be less than there are now, but there will be more than one. Same way Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Twitter, Google, PayPal, etc. all utilize the same technology (the internet) for different purposes.

A gut feeling.

But seriously, there is absolutely no way to value Bitcoin. None. All other coins are valued against Bitcoin's market cap, and that market cap is impossible to value.

I'm not suggesting it will or will not be $30k in February, but there is no reason to suggest it will other than the belief that it will simply continue to go up.

I don't think I need to explain human psychology to someone who claims to be as smart as you do bruh

Enough people are interested in the projects that even if you feel the whole things is absolute bulshit, it's still worth an investment.

What is Bitcoin's niche? Currency only, right?

That’s what I’m saying. People keep throwing numbers like 30,50, 100k.

Broke and LSURussian, and myself to a less vocal extent, may ultimately be proven right about Bitcoin, but we were very early.

I only see people here interested in trying to get rich. I call that speculation. Here is the deal. If people don't get anything out of it they don't care about it.

And I'll be first to admit that bitcoin will probably be around a while. Not as a currency but as speculation. It's not like penny stocks for a company who will eventually go bankrupt. Bitcoin can't go bankrupt so they will continue to have hopeful, gullible investors who are looking for the next dream.

Yes. I think bitcoin will need to expand their applications of the blockchain to more than just currency in order to last. Or crypto as a legit currency will have to go mainstream pretty fast.

I don't see how any of you can even claim that remotely especially when you have all admitted to not even understand it

But whatever

Thread reeks of people who mocked it early, went into hiding late, and now feeling they won....

Medical records would become unalterable. Blockchain will provide transparency and security in industries where both are sorely needed
