The guys NEVER go to the shower. Wussification of the American male. Bridal shower, baby shower...all female events.

If you've ever been to a couples shower you'd know that it isn't much different from an engagement party, or something to that effect. It's a party that usually has alcohol, food, music, maybe a game on TV, etc...

What's wrong with that? Are you just worried about the name "shower"?

I don't really care if someone attends either of these, but the only thing they have in common with a couples shower is the word "shower." Call it a couples party if it makes you feel better about attending.

Have you ever been to a couples shower? Most of them are where women receive kitchen or home stuff and the guys receive tools, alcohol & other manly items. Everyone then gets drunk. It's more of another excuse to drink with friends. In my experience, then men profit more than the women.

Who's the winner in this situation?

Guys like him worry about the important things, like pussy, while guys like you sweat the small stuff just to build your bro status online.

Well to be fair, if said co-worker does truly go with whatever she wants, just to get pussy...his co-worker is a beta

However, this guy bitching about said co-worker on the OT...that's even more beta

Either way, sucks to be both of them.

Precisely. The point is that his co-worker is more focused on pussy than impressing his e-friends by expressing his disdain for a couples shower that he's going still going to attend.

Exactly. People get all pissy about an engagement party or a couples shower and the other events that accompany a wedding because they think it is nothing more than people looking for a handout. That is a pretty miserable attitude in the first place, but it is also incorrect. If you give them a toaster at the couples shower, nothing is expected or required of you at any of the other events. Alternatively, if you come without a gift to the pre-wedding events, it is perfectly acceptable too.

It is similar to people who bitch about the money dance when it is 100% voluntary. You don't have to bring a gift and give them money, but some people will do that and prepare accordingly.
