I don’t get the issue of all the people who have to brag on social media about not wearing a mask. I mean, how hard is it to put on a mask, do your shopping, go to the doctor, etc. and take it off leave? Is it really that difficult?

Why is it so hard for people to understand it’s not about the masks? Which are useless to begin with. It’s about complying to a lie. Just going along with something being forced upon us that actually has NO factual basis of even working. None! They started with house arrest (not quarantine), then moved on to mask, now hinting at shields. Do the followers of this bullshite just keep following? Have a damn backbone for Gods sake. You’re an American!

At what point will you guys deem that it’s safe to take off the mask?

Austin has a city-wide mask mandate for public areas, so I keep a couple of disposable masks in my vehicle in case I need to stop at the store, pharmacy, etc. on my way home. What kills me are the people who wear masks while riding bikes, walking in the neighborhood, or even jogging. I had a Karen scream at me from across the street for not wearing a mask while walking my dog. I was alone, nobody was anywhere near me, and she was clear on the other side of the street.

Thanks but I’m an American and have a backbone. I wear a mask when I patronize a business that has asked me to wear one. What is the big deal about honoring their wishes? People make it about the masks when they feel the need to start threads on social media about not wearing one for whatever reason like it’s some kind badge of honor. Why should I or anyone else care whether you wear one or not? It’s a personal choice and no one’s business.

Exactly!
Do the mask wearers enjoy this “new normal?”
Do they enjoy seeing businesses in their communities closed down?
Do they enjoy being told they have to wear a mask before purchasing food for their family?
Were their lives so miserable and boring that this dark, confusing new normal has brought joy to them?
The longer this goes on, complying with no push back the more power the government will have over you and you’ll be no more than pawns in their game. It’s truly disgusting how Americans have bent over and bought in so easily. America was founded and built for the exact opposite of what’s going on right now. Sad

I take the mask off once I leave the business and am walking to my car.

I think he means at what point will it be ok to lift mask mandates? Are there concrete terms as in case numbers, deaths, hospitalizations? Vaccine?

You could be like the dude in front of me yesterday. Walmart guy asks him if he needed a mask. His reply: "No thanks." And walked right on in.

He was behind me checking out as well. Nobody ever said a word to him.

Nice racist comment there. of course that is allowed if I dropped the "N" bomb I would be perma banned.

as far as these requirements a business can and cannot impose. Where do these requirements start and end? That is a pretty slippery slope.

Except not bake a cake. Im not saying anything about what private buisness can do. I’m saying thag wearing a mask isn’t a law and the government can’t do you or anyone shite if they refuse.

You think the word redneck is racist?

As long as those requirements don’t preclude people due to their sex, age, race, etc they can have whatever requirements they damn well please. They can require you to wear a pirate hat to patron their store if they want to.

It’s the same concept as “no shoes, no service”.

Your story specifically talks about a private business and you ignoring their rights to kick you out for not following their rules for patroning their business

When people ask what a “Karen” is, this is it. It’s not about it being difficult, it’s about Governors exercising “emergency” powers(which are meant for things like hurricanes, etc, not a highly politicized virus that drags on for months or years) to control what people wear over their faces like its fricking Saudi Arabia. Is it hard to stand on one foot for 5 seconds every time you walk out of your house? Not really right, so what if you were told to do that? No big deal?

Do you realize that in 90 percent of the country masks are mandated by the government? It’s not a business’ choice to require mask in the majority of places.
