Hang a shingle. I did it about three years ago and couldn’t be happier. I still deal with a lot of shite, but it’s my shite and I don’t to worry about people micromanaging or questioning what I do. The long hours don’t get better but the money sure does.

u're so goddam right about this. Dead on balls accurate.
Then go get some help. See a shrink, a therapist, a priest, a hooker, whoever. Just get someone to help you get your shite together.
If you hate your job, quit. You have a fricking law degree. You can pretty much do what you want. Start your own business or apply for an HR position. Why work a job you hate and waste one minute miserable when you can do something else?

I stopped doing this. If you need me after hours for an emergency than call me. Otherwise I'll be spending time with my family

At least I can lightly jog without getting a swamp under my tits

Or as I like to call it, a normal Saturday night.

You law dogs rarely have anything good to say about your profession.
I implored a kid in undergrad who was interning at our office to not go to law school and everyone got pissed at me.

To make good money, you basically have to be smart and lucky enough to work at a big law sweatshop. And that seems like no way to live. Maybe if you can find a lucrative career as an ambulance chaser, good on you. The only area where I have seen a lifestyle that I somewhat envy is in patent law. But, you gotta be a smart engineering dude to do that type of work.
Sabi has it right. It's work. It's supposed to suck. Try to enjoy yourself after work.

I was poised at the beginning of last year to either attend LSU law or go back for Registered Nurse.
This board convinced me that being a lawyer is the 7th circle of Satan’s a-hole. In my 2nd semester of nursing school now.

Is the 3-4 years working 80 hrs/week at a big law firm any different than a medical residency, where you work your arse off and get paid shite? Don’t people make partnership after those years? Just curious.
