I agree. It's very oppressive to require that you be able to see to operate a 2 ton steel missile on public roads.

I don't give a shite if you get a ticket or your license suspended.

I do care if you can't read (without glasses) a sign that says for example "U-turn yield to right turns" and hit me because you think you "can see fine".

I disagree.

You're obviously too blind to see the restriction "A - Corrective Lenses" printed on the back of your license.

So if you already had the restriction requiring glasses, you knew that you'd need them to pass the test. And you know that means you're supposed to wear them while driving, right?
This, and you'll get a ticket if you don't have corrective lenses on if stopped...

Most title places do drivers licenses. Why would you go to the DMV for this?

Frick you for not wanting to drive safely.

What if some other guy decides he doesn't want to wear his glasses and goes speeding through your neighborhood and squashes your beloved little kitty?

You sound like the dumb broad at the office. "You know with this restriction if you get pulled over and your not wearing them it's a automatic suspension." "Sweetheart, I've been pulled over 5 times in the past 4 years. They never asked me about my glasses." " well they probably just assumed you had contacts on idk I wasn't there". Like really no shite you weren't and if you don't give a frick why are you trying to scare me with license suspension.

I like the sexism, pairs really well with the stupidity. Nice touch OP

Don't matter. Made a call. Not getting glasses. Still getting it renewed.

Went to dmv a few weeks ago. Showed up at 930. Out by 945. Surprisingly pleasant experience.

You have to go to the right DMV office. Try to avoid the ones in the city. Drive to one in a more rural area and avoid the crowds and some of the riff raff. Ask around. Folks usually know the nearest decent office.

I'm not sure what percentage you need to get correct to pass the eye exam but I know I was pretty close to failing. She made me re read the bottom line. At that point I was just guessing.

It used to be that way in Mandeville, now it's packed with undesirables from other areas around here. I think they closed a couple of locations around here. Paying like $10-20 for a notary is way worth it, now.

I wear contacts and I was pulled over once at a checkpoint and the officer shined a flashlight in my eyes and got a good look up close to make sure that I was actually wearing them. They're not impossible to see even when they're in your eyes.

Pretty easy to see actually if you are up close and know what you're looking at.

In 2015 if you still go to the DMV to get your license renewed you're an idiot
