on the floor with pillows was the only 'relief' i got. i went to the guest room so i wouldn't bother the rest of the house and i could cry without anyone seeing me

I feel for you man. I’ve only had one and it sucked …. I’ll never forget how it felt. I wouldn’t wish it in anyone.

once it moved that far i was able to go to work (hence the office urinal ) and yep, not something you see every day but there was no pain associated with pulling the thing out of my penis or any of the peeing i had done in the day or so prior.

its that journey from the kidney to the bladder that will get you!

People never believe me when I tell them this. The peeing out part is more just sort of annoying. What's the longest you've had one linger in the bladder after descending? My last one was 3 weeks!

Yes, more an irritation after reaching the bladder.

The pain has been continuous since before i made the OP. USUALLY the pain means its moving. I hope this sob is finished soon. Percs doing nothing.

Funny enough, I had my first and hopefully only one about two weeks ago. Took myself to the ER and thought I was dying. Worst and most Indescribable pain of my life. I do not wish that pain on anyone and pray I do not ever get another one. You can't escape the pain which is a truly haunting experience. When you throw up and pass out due to the pain, you know you're in for a bad time.

How old are you?
My urologist told me that they don’t really know what causes them but typically if you have one you’ll have multiple, especially if you are young.
Good luck

37. Never had one before. I think if I were to ever get another one, I'd probably be "okay" assuming it's the same size. I was also prescribed flomax and have it on me to take if I ever feel another one coming on.

I have a pretty high pain tolerance but this was something else. The flank pain was like someone taking a rusty knife and jabbing into you repeatedly with waves of intense pain.

Brother I feel you - i had an attack a few months ago that made me got to the ER - turns out i had 2 7mm stones in the left kidney I could not pass, one gave me a massive UTI, and they had to go up the dick to remove them and I had a stone so big int he right, they had to go through my back to remove it a few weeks ago.

they are no frickign joke and you have my sympathy - not something i would wish upon my worst enemy.

Usually it’s back pain and a tremendous need to pee but can’t.
I passed one last month. Woke up in the middle of the night. Back hurt, needed to pee but couldn’t. And for the first time ever I felt a crazy need to shite. Say on the toilet for 30 minutes and nothing. It was weird

Passed what I believe was my second stone ever early Friday morning. I say what I believe because I now realize the mystery symptoms that kept me up into the early morning hours last week resulting in a hard little stone sitting at bottom of the commode were the exact same I experienced 5 years ago (minus observing an actual stone). The constant feeling of needing to urinate, shite, and accompanying burning sensation and dull back pain were intense.

It was a few days after my lithotripsy before I passed mine. Ended up being 2 weeks from initial onset to passing. Don’t wish it on my worst enemy.

When it passes, it's the best piss you will ever take in your life. But the pain is like a knife stabbing you in the back every minute or two.
