I'm being a team family member and going in August.
My sister and her family went a couple years back , and invited me and my then-girlfriend to go with.. i declined, then later found out they spent ten days with 6 people in two rooms (with us woulda been 8 people).. i promise you , if i had gone, that a murder would have occurred.. sounded like a recipe for disaster .

Disney World is one of Top 10 scams in the whole world! Biggest money grab for the most worthless shite I have ever seen!

I have never been and have no desire to go

The kids in our family are still taking about our Disney cruise this year and are the ones asking for universal next year. Memories made with cousins are a lot of fun as a kid.
I’m honestly so glad the kids had fun, and I think it’s great you prioritize them having great memories! I’m just wondering why a family trip with cousins to another place wouldn’t create amazing memories too?

Yeah, it isn't built for poor people. You need to stay on the property.

Agreed, which is why i declined.. thankfully far from poor (#humblebrag) but apparently my BIL had some package deal where they had two rooms on the property but wherever it was, it was booked up so I couldn’t just add an extra room for me and my gf…. Plus at the time I wasn’t able to get ten days off of work .

We took 2 young kids last year for the first time. IMO, in order to have a good experience:
1. Throw your ideas of “value” out the window. If you want to enjoy it, you have to overpay. It is what it is.
2. Plan everything down to the most miniscule detail, but be willing to abandon any/all of those plans at a moments notice.

I’ve only been once. Jan 2021. Covid times so like 40% capacity. I got yelled at so many times for not wearing my mask above my nose. But in 3 days, the longest we waited was like 45 minutes. Probably never go back and know I had the best experience.

I dont blame him. I wouldn't go back without it either and I had a blast.
I told my group why do you want to go to Disney when it seemed half the crowd at Universal was wearing Disney garb.
Guess we will have the Genie but from what I'm hearing I dont think it's near as good as the Express pass at Universal.

It's the biggest rip off on the planet. A place for peasants to spend their money.

Disney is no where near the only place this family travels together. It is just not a place we hate when it comes up in the rotation.
Same kids have also been to more national parks than your average OTer if I had to bet. And do not complain of being bored. Thise are chosen often in the rotation also.

Was this a surprise? Did your wife book everything then drop the cc statement on you at the last minute?

hate crowds so why go
Were you unaware that other people also go to Disney, or after seeing what you were about to pay for you just assumed it guaranteed you the entire park to yourself?

You can go to Europe and see real castles and history for the same price

That’s great. Sounds like the kids get some great experiences.
