Well, generally speaking, yea. But at certain times I would much rather crawfish. Right now crawfish are badass. Really have been enjoying them the last few weeks. Come April I'm good till next season...

Purge them.....please
You don't purge a crawfish. All that does it make them spit up. 24 hours to make them shite.

Same here.
I'd rather eat fried soft shell crab than any boiled crab too.

I like it boiled but I don't care for it in any other form.

I cannot wait for Good Friday in Lake Charles. Beer drinking and crawfish eating. Good time, with good people.

I have always put them in ice chest and filled with water and let it drain...the water gets cleaner the 2nd or 3rd time maybe I should say rinse and not purge?

This man speaks this truth, purging the poop out of them with salt is a myth...

The experts also provide this information on myths that persist about cooking crawfish. For example:
–Myth No. 1: Pour salt on crawfish to purge them. "In reality, the salt doesn’t do anything," McClain said. Fully purging crawfish can be accomplished only by placing them in an aerated water bath for up to 24 hours, but washing them removes mud and debris.
