Gen X parenting is absolutely wrecking their kids. This country is so fricked.
With the way Gen X was able to come of age being latchkey kids to turn around and track every aspect of their kids life is disgusting
The reason Boomers didn't track their GenX kids is because the tech didn't exist. If it did, I assure you we would have been tracked.
This has nothing to do with generations, it is being done now because now is when the technology to do it is happening.

There’s no way Im putting a tracker on my phone for my family. That’s a bit extreme
My wife calls it her husband tracker. All it ever shows is me going to work, the gym, and home.
It came in handy when we noticed my MIL starting to go into mental decline. The fast stops and rapid accelerations were all over the place. We were able to use that to help make some hard decision on access to her car.

TRANSP § 545.051. Driving on Right Side of Roadway
(a) An operator on a roadway of sufficient width shall drive on the right half of the roadway, unless:
(1) the operator is passing another vehicle;

(b) An operator of a vehicle on a roadway moving more slowly than the normal speed of other vehicles at the time and place under the existing conditions shall drive in the right-hand lane available for vehicles, or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway, unless
Is there another law that addresses interstate or divided highway driving in Texas? Looking at entire section of the law you quoted this appears focused on 2 lane traffic divided by center line between them where passing on the left is done by using the oncoming traffic lane (and for similar 4 lanes of traffic that aren’t physically divided where you can make a left across the oncoming lanes). That seems to also be why it mentions driving slower than the norm and includes trying to stay close to the curb.

Sec. 545.051. DRIVING ON RIGHT SIDE OF ROADWAY.
(a) An operator on a roadway of sufficient width shall drive on the right half of the roadway, unless:
(1) the operator is passing another vehicle;
(2) an obstruction necessitates moving the vehicle left of the center of the roadway and the operator yields the right-of-way to a vehicle that:
(A) is moving in the proper direction on the unobstructed portion of the roadway; and
(B) is an immediate hazard;
(3) the operator is on a roadway divided into three marked lanes for traffic; or
(4) the operator is on a roadway restricted to one-way traffic.
(b) An operator of a vehicle on a roadway moving more slowly than the normal speed of other vehicles at the time and place under the existing conditions shall drive in the right-hand lane available for vehicles, or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway, unless the operator is:
(1) passing another vehicle; or
(2) preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway.
(c) An operator on a roadway having four or more lanes for moving vehicles and providing for two-way movement of vehicles may not drive left of the center line of the roadway except:
(1) as authorized by an official traffic-control device designating a specified lane to the left side of the center of the roadway for use by a vehicle not otherwise permitted to use the lane;
(2) under the conditions described by Subsection (a)(2); or
(3) in crossing the center line to make a left turn into or out of an alley, private road, or driveway.

I disabled it on my phone because "it drains my battery". It felt a little weird being tracked, even though when I leave the house, I'm usually just at the grocery store.

A and b are not mutually exclusive given my layman's reading.
I'm sure there are, but I'm not picking through all 459 subsections to keep telling people to get out of the passing lane.
Nobody is going to change their Elmer Fudd mindset anyway. Doing 74 in a 75 in the passing lane is perfectly fine! Just like the moron on I-45 that caused close to 30 individual lane changes from 11 cars trying to get around him.

I see both sides. I both love and hate that people that have my location.
There are times when it is extremely convenient, but then there are times I'm tempted to leave my phone behind so I don't catch judgment going grab a beer somewhere.

I assure you my folks weren’t calling all
My friends’ parents to double check if I was there. That tech existed and was not used to nanny state monitor us kids

So hilarious how gen x brags about having nearly total freedom in adolescence and then lords over their kids like kim jong un when it’s their turn.
This, they've done a poor job.

I wouldn’t be worried if your daughter is in the car and it’s going 80…
I’d be worried if she’s in the car and it’s going 0

Mine weren't calling either. "Be home at a reasonable time" was enough. But it's ridiculous to say the tech existed back then or to think that our parents wouldn't take 2 seconds out of their life to look at an app and see where we were at had they had the tech to do so.
