I did not know this before looking it up:
Domino's is named after Dominick DiVarti, who founded the first restaurant. The name changed from Dominick's to Domino's as the restaurant turned into a chain. It was started in Michigan, which isn't known for good pizza.

If we are talking delivery chains....I think Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns are all kind of disappointing. Papa Johns is probably worse than the other two.
