Yes nothing like a hot streak at a craps table.
I put 40 down at the craps table, proceeded to get all the way down to 3 bucks. Things got hot and made it up to 300.
Ending up walking away from the table with 80 bucks. Fun way to double my money

I remember when St. Tammany Parish voted out video poker machines years ago. I knew a retired state trooper who had bought 2 businesses side by side, one a discount tobacco shop, the other a bar.
Well, the bar had video poker machines in it when he bought the business and when it was banned in the Parish it wasn't long before he went out of business in the bar due to the huge loss of revenue. The bar could not support itself without the video poker revenue.
He did keep the tobacco shop the last I heard.

In Baton Rouge ?
If you are a lawyer and played in the Baton Rouge casinos often I’m sure I would know you.

Absolutely not. Walk into any nice casino after 5:00pm. They are always packed up.

You’re paying for the entertainment just like you would pay for a movie or a night out.

I can’t judge a recreational gambler that has control to stay within a budget. I spend thousands on golf a year with 0% chance of making money. People like to spend their money on different shite

You are 1000% correct. Gambling can become evil really quick.

Las Vegas biggest industry now is entertainment (I know gambling can be considered entertainment, but more tax dollars are generated by entertainment than what is generated from gambling)
But I want to say that the slots make up something like 88% of the revenue made from gambling. Blackjack, craps, roulette, sports betting obviously generates some revenue. I know a lot of people go to casinos and sit at those slot machines and throw away all their money.. its addictive to them.. But a player has no control whatsoever. There is no decision making, no type of strategy... You just hit a button and watch to see if things line up. That's not fun or entertaining at all.

Some people are addicted to it. My cousin can't resist the urge to bet on football games. When he bet a hundred dollars that the Giants would win, I was ready to take him for a psych eval.

It's kinda strange to me... I have stopped buying lottery tickets when they increased the price from $2 to $5. It never occurred to me to stop when I realized your chances of winning the jackpot are about 1 in a trillion.

I agree and disagree. I bet almost every college football game played every Saturday. $3 to $7 per game. My wife jokes that it’s the least amount of money we spend on a weekend.
If a baw thinks he’s gonna make his salary on this that’s different. $3 on Michigan vs Iowa makes it worth watching.
I don’t need life changing money to feel vested in an outcome.

Depends on the strip club. Visions, Ships Wheel, and Downs Lounge for sure.
