Many people think having to cook takes much of the enjoyment out of the dining experience.
I enjoy cooking as much as eating it.
I'm no "foodie" so finding expensive restaurants isn't one of the priorities on my list. I usually mix it up a bit with cooking and eating out at moderate places.
If I am going to spend over 1k for a week on food, I'd hire a chef.

Who is the poster that said their family goes to Walmart on the first day and sticks up the condo with food and cooks every meal? Treating yourself to nice meals and different cuisine is half the enjoyment of vacation to me.
I’d rather pass on a vacation or two and put the money back for an actual vacation if it ever comes to that.
The vacation youre talking about is very different than these beach vacations theyre talking about. Places like Destin and Gulf Shores arent exactly littered with the cuisine youre speaking about.

The good food there is usually limited and the rest is mostly fried frozen dog shite.
I am okay with the beach, but mostly for the noise of the ocean. I can easily replicate that elsewhere.

Great strategy. Less vacations. Sounds like a rational idea....

Find better beaches. Average highs in Hawaii are around 80 degrees. I’m never hot and sweaty at the beach.

It's for the kids. Other than that, a beach is only good for fishing and scenery from a balcony/restaurant, in my opinion.

Foreign beeches in south America sounds nice. I don't like too crowded places I get self conscious

Where exactly?
I highly doubt it.
You're not exactly cut out for it.

In-laws thinking about buying a place and you're acting like it's yours?

I'm not sure which is worse.
He paid 10k to go to freaking Destin, or that he admitted to doing so.

You can keep your truffle roasted small plate with a side of arugula.
It tastes fine, but it just doesn't provide the utility to me for the price.
But I don't mind going to Nick and Sam's and getting a nice ribeye or NY strip, the price for that is worth it to me.

When people are at home they don't say "hey, let's turn off the air conditioning, sit in a sauna, shine heat lamps in our face, glop on a bunch of grease, throw sand all over our bodies/shoes/vehicle, spray soda all over our bodies to assimilate that sticky ocean water feel, invite a bunch of seagulls into the kitchen to battle us for every scrap of food, turn some giant fans on 50mph blowing stuff everywhere" etc.

Sat on SGI last week. Beautiful weather, cold beer, and fun tunes.
Was total fricking relaxing.

That’s cute and all, but there is a shitton of great food out there that’s “worth it”. $60 steaks is not the only good stuff to enjoy.
