Happened to a white guy I know not all that long ago in Baton Rouge. Shot him in the face. Luckily he lived. There was a small article on in The Advocate I believe and that was it. No one cared.

I was doing my student teaching at a high school that was an almost even racial mixture when the OJ verdict was announced. We put it on the tv in our classroom. When the announcement was made, the black students were literally jumping up and down and running around the classroom. The white students were just sitting there with incredulous looks on their faces. This photo sums it up well.
