Outback is my go to steak place that’s not a “Steakhouse”.

I grill the best steak in the world, it's been confirmed and not up for debate, every once in awhile I like to go out and have a decent steak and be waited on, but I don't care for the outback cuts of meat, had a decent piece of beef at Del Frisco's Grille last night

Debate: Outback or Ruth Chris? All things considered, price, quality of food everything. I would honestly choose Outback

If you bother to spend time at Outback you buy the Bloomin Onion.

I don't think of Outback as a "Steak House" even though it's in the name. About the same as calling Ponderosa a steak house. Of you can walk out with only paying "$35 with tip" it's not a steakhouse.

I have a friend who likes to hit outback about once a year.

I've always had a solid meal there. It's hard to screw up a wedge salad and potato. Steak has always been good.

Is it top of the line? Nope. Doesn't change the fact, I've always had a pretty good meal there.

Some chains are decent. Outback is one of them.

Seems a bit high for one meal.

The one in Gonzales is awful, similar to Buffalo Wild Wings
The one in Baton Rouge was decent the last time I ate there about 20 years ago

really depends on the management and that goes for most chains, some are well run and the quality doesn't suffer

others are a total disaster

Outback is one of those places where the quality and staff vary greatly from location to location. I guess some of them have better general managers than others.

I will no longer go to the one in Metairie. There is always a wait to be seated, and a long wait for food, despite no more than half the tables ever being full, which tells me they have a staffing problem.

The Outback in Slidell is fine.

The Outback in Gonzales is very inconsistent.

Lately, I've been finding myself more and more going to Longhorn.

if a place is consistent, and you know what you're going there for and expect nothing more, a place like that is fine, every once in awhile

My wife's brother loves Longhorn so we end up going there a few times a year. I like them because they have flat iron steak on their menu. It's a trashy cut of steak, but I love it and theirs is pretty good. It'd be even better if they had skirt steak.

Ruth's sucks anymore, that's usually what happens when a place begins to franchise and loses qc
