if you asked if he could post a poll, and his response was "does a bear shite in the woods," it would NOT be a metaphor.

the only way that phrase would be a metaphor is if you were comparing a bear shitting in the woods to a similar situation. since that hypothetical situation does not exist, you are WRONG.
