Is this the type of education Ole Miss provides? Seriously

Ok, so you're all telling me that if ask someone if he wants to go out and get drunk, his response is "Does a bear shite in the woods" that it is not a metaphorical response to what I asked him. Is that what y'all are telling me?

This might be my favorite OT thread in a while

Yes.

The metaphor refers to a person's true nature. Of course he's going to do it. That's the counterpoint of two ideas.
Wut

What, exactly, is it a metaphor for?
Nevermind. I get it. You're dumb.

Not a metaphor.
For example, if someone asked me "Are feminists fat and ugly?", it wouldn't make sense for me to say "Yes, it's like a bear shitting in the woods". A bear shitting in the woods has no parallels to a feminist being fat and ugly. The two statements just happen to both be obviously true, making it a humorous rhetorical question

Your claim of a 129 IQ is looking dubious.

I think anyone who passed the 8th grade would say I'm right on this. The fact that I'm having this argument about two totally unrelated terms is ridiculous. I guarantee you every single English teacher in the country would say I'm correct.

Ok, doesn't that meet the same definition here?

I get what you're saying, but I'm still saying not.
Let's try to make a metaphor out of this.
"I'm getting so drunk I'll eat bear shite."
"I'm going to shite a drunken bear."

You're beating a dead horse.
See what I did there?

Dude, you should drop this one. I'm too high to figure out where you're having a disconnect, but you have one somewhere.
Posted on 3/9/17 at 9:48 pm to Jake88
Ok, this one for instance:
Ok so let's say you walk into a place, and you're soaking wet. Someone asks why you are wet, and you say that as a response. How is that any different?

No. Do you know what the word literal means? I'm saying the two statements have no metaphorical parallels
