Was more interested in hard floors. Leaves get stuck in the carpet and stays wet causing mold.
If its outside I would use porcelain tile that looks like wood.

It's all about moisture in the room and flooring. The rosewood I am installing has been in the room the last two months. No hurry to finish this project.

What is the best bang for the buck flooring to use?
If money was no issue, what is the best or top 3 to use?
Hardwood flooring vs fake wood flooring?
What is the best hardwood to use?
Also, what is the best way to get rid of carpet beetle (especially the larva)?
Also no offense, but 5 years don't make you a true expert in the field. Now your brother that you said was in the field for 45 years, could make him an expert. Can't really replace experience. Imagine 20 years from now if you are still in this trade, and looking back would you consider yourself as an expert in the field?

Disagree 100% using that outside. Sippy when wet. Would use a slate stone first not to bust your arse.

Ok... I have treated wood deck on my back porch that gets very little direct sunlight. It's about 25 years old and in good shape but "looks old" (grey)....would deck stain be recommend to spruce up the look and help it last another 25 years? If so, what brand would you recommend?

What should I do about my morning hardwood?

Hey, that was my brother in the field for 45 years, not the OP. Oh, I did work with him on and off over the years helping him out now and then on some jobs.

Our porcelain tile installer mixed the grout incorrectly, it’s too light. Any affordable way to darken the grout?

Have you (generally) found this to be true?:
In the past year, what* has floored you?
*You cannot answer with either Mrs. Füt.
PS: After 5 years of each of my several careers, I was wise enough to not consider myself an expert in any of them. God bless your confidence but I’m confident you’re not an expert.

Pressure wash it first. Watch that you don't cut the wood. Then let it dry good and then use a sealer.

Carpet. Gives you the most options (color, pattern thickness, softness) also the most cost effective.

Depends on the space. I need more info.

Hardwood flooring vs fake wood flooring?
Real hardwood always wins. Its custom, from God.

Depends on the application but look at hardness. It's important.

Ask your wife to take care of it. I did mine this morning.

Agree 100% there. Same brother gave me well over 800sf of 100+ year old quarter sawed pine flooring that will be installed in the rest on the guest house I am building. Some real nice stuff that is old growth.

The Ceramic Tile Institute identifies tile in the following three categories: Slip Resistant: Coefficient of friction is 0.60 or greater (wet). Meets or exceeds general safety and health regulations, ADA and OSHA requirements.
Look on the side of the box, it will have the acronym COF. IF its above .60 you should be fine.

Engineered wood floors on slab and a little upstairs on a wood subfloor deck. New construction.
Will it be properly acclimated in this weather? Heater will be running, but AC has never run.
Glue down vs floating?

You should have picked a darker grout. even if you mix it incorrectly that's not going to affect the color of the grout.
