I don't really mind them. They open good coffee shops and don't really harm anyone. That and it can be fun to get drunk and people watch at their bars.

There are thousands of Tulane/Northeastern kids who pour into NOLA for 4-6 years and think because they did a few Saturdays of charity work that they are the moral
Authority of New Orleans.

They drive me nuts with their moral superiority. The only thing that makes me feel better is pissing them off until they walk away.

The guys don't ever say shite. They're normal. It's always the girls who have problems with everything anyone does. Yeah, we have a boatload of girls, but the good ones are few and far between

i don't do coffee or craft beer so they don't offer very much to me.

they're are only 1/3 of what I'm talking about though.

The craft beer / hipster connection is way overhyped. Crowds at a place like NOLA, Parish, or Courtyard are way more white collar and preppy than a bunch of hipster folk. The coffee thing is a magnet, though

No a-hole, we've been calling every neighborhood the wrong thing since my grandparents were born here in the 20s. Everything should have "the" in front of it so people know you're not talking about "the other"

It sounds cooler to say "the Marigny." At least that's what the carpetbaggers think.

You ever been to Ashville NC?

Being recently moved to Austin from NO, I feel like OP doesn't even know.

But Asheville is one of the weirdest fricking towns I've ever been to. As in, I don't how it even exists as a thing. The airport is basically straight out of Kitty Hawk. Drum circles on Friday.. where are the offices? WTF is going on?

It is 3rd world.

The fact that you are white makes you even more of an idiot for living there. Unless, you're rich and still that would be stupid to live there.

Just CCW everywhere you go and hope for the best.

Good Night all and even you MY.

There are a lot of "hipsters" in New Orleans, but if they come into the city and spend money.. Then god bless em.. They can take any political stance they want.

Some of yall need to let all the political bullshite stop blinding yall. This is still America, people can show support for whatever ideology they want.. They tax dollars they generate are just as good as anyone else's.

All those tax dollars are doing a real great job of repairing our great infrastructure, funding our excellent public schools and paying for the extra law inforcement to keep POS thugs in check.
