At HEB in TX you can't even buy more than 3doz per purchase.

That's not universally true, the thought is now, some people's bodies don't account for cholesterol intake, they just make a flat amount. So for some eating a ton of eggs could be bad.
No. Cholesterol you eat is a foreign substance and does not get immediately shuttled into your blood stream. It is metabolized into its basic components, like everything we eat, and then those are distributed to where the body needs them. Cholesterol in the blood stream is a symptom of some other problem, e. g. being a lazy fat body, not the result of eating a lot of cholesterol.

According to another article I read, HEB is suppose to ration eggs at all its stores. As said, the tactic is being used to curb restaurants from loading up.

Eggs don't cause high cholesterol. Wish that stupidity would die already. Along with the stupidity of salt causing high blood pressure.
Thats not entirely accurate. Nutrionists are backing down in the eliminate eggs thing and trying to reclassify the whole good cholesterol bad cholesterol thing, but eggs are high in cholesterol and if you eat too many than you may have a high cholesterol problem. Same thing with salt. Moderation is the key, they recommend that the average American should eat no more than 4-7 eggs/week.

Eggs are very healthy. I try and eat as many as I can, but usually turns out to be just two a day.
If you eat 2/day every day of the week you might want to cut back.
ETA: I was off by one egg. It is 4-7 eggs/wk.

You're right that moderation is the key (in everything), but what do you consider too many? You seem to think two a day is too many, but do you have any citation or that?

So I get on my google machine and lo and behold there is some kind of bird flu driving the prices outta sight.
Yes, this is definitely going around. All the reports I have received have said it is pretty bad. You're going to notice a difference with the turkeys around Thanksgiving as well.

You are wrong.
Really? That is not what medical textbook says or the mayo clinic says.

Chicken eggs are high in cholesterol, but the effect of egg consumption on blood cholesterol is minimal when compared with the effect of trans fats and saturated fats.

Most healthy people can eat up to seven eggs a week with no increase in their risk of heart disease.
I was off by one egg/week, but if TigerinMIA or anyone is eating 10-14 eggs per week that is double the recommendations and that will increase his risk for heart disease. Like I said moderation is the key .

My medical textbook says 4-6/week and the may clinic says 7/week. So if you eat 2 eggs per day 2-3 times per week then you are probabaly fine. If you eat 2egg/day for 5-7 times per week then you should cut back.
