They classify it as a "soft wash" lol.

Soft wash does not rely on pressure to clean. It basically sprays bleach.

I read somewhere that there is a big plan in the works to give the capital a makeover.

I heard this too.

For anyone wondering why the tower of terror has gotten so dirty, the almost 100 year old mortar on the facade has been disintegrating and falling out in chunks for a while now. I assume they stopped any sort of cleaning after that discovery to not make it worse.

Can't. It's the reason for the majority of discoloration because of rain water leeching between the stone joints and rusting out the steel that supports the stones.

Next year you should see scaffolding 2/3 of the way up the tower for workers to remove stones to be cleaned/repaired/replaced while the steel is repaired/replaced amd cleaned then treated before the stones are put back in place.

This was already done up to the base of the tower.

It will be a long arse time before it's done which might coincide with the 100 anniversary of the capitol but it will look like it did in 1931.

How long before a young future doctor shoots one of these down?

Kinda. There is the major issue with the rust which has lead to compression breaks and some extreme spalling. It got bad near the entrance which is why there is a metal framed portal there.

Ever thought they might be soft washing....that requires very little pressure and using bleach instead of pressure?

They are softwashing but using a drone isn’t the best way to softwash a 20 foot tall concrete wall by a long shot. Those walls are way too dirty for softwash only, it needs a high pressure rinse thrown in there to actually look good unless they’re planning on using 300 gallons of chlorine per panel. The guys who sold BR on that cleaning are either the best bullshite artists in the industry or have no clue what they’re doing

They can access these walls easily with a man lift

Yeah, but then you got to pay at least two people’s wages

They're building new sidewalks on Florida Blvd.

Does that count?

Florida blvd is a disaster.

The amount of counter force that drone would need to produce to offset a decent water pressure would be pretty significant

and how much water can it carry, what PSI does if produce

Ever pick up your pressure washer…This is stupid.

Which was also deemed to be the fault of a contractor cutting corners. …given that crash frame has been there 6 years, it’s safe to assume the contractor won’t be the one fixing the problem.

That literally looks like it’s doing nothing to that wall.

What a waste.

Should be cleaned by welfare recipients.

Lots of jobs around Baton Rouge for these free loaders to do
