Bump on this post...Gatorade - would like your opinion.
We're in the market for a kid's mattress. Teenager who needs the length for a 6' 3" boy. Room for a queen, but we're not spending big money for top of the line, cause he's a dang kid, after all. Old school coil mattress?
Help me out here.

Tempur pedic is the most overpriced garbage I’ve ever slept on

After sleeping on one, I decided to replace a 2 yr old $2k+ mattress with a $500 one the next day. I now have this on multiple beds. No more back pains and I don’t get hot anymore, it’s just awesome!!
FYI, I just left the old box springs down and put this on top. Keeps the height right. Technically, the mattress can go straight on a platform.
Look at the 30k reviews and the rating. Speaks for itself.
Best Mattress Ever!
Also, I ended up taking a reciprocating saw to that 2 yr old $2000 pillow top mattress I had before to make it fit in trash cans. I was so pissed when I cut it open. Foam, cheap springs, cloth.. The margins in mattresses are STUPID HUGE! That’s why there are more mattress stores than freaking Walgreens almost. Every corner 36 mo, 24 mo, etc..
Good luck!

Here we are, a point in our lives where online reviews are so dependably untrustworthy that even mattress purchases need to be cleared through Tigerdroppings.

89% of import mattresses will be ending due to protectionist tariffs that started Oct 28th. A TON of these bed in a box type companies will be gone unless they can find another source. This is per an email I received yesterday. So that warranty or sleep guarantee will probably be out of the window.

We have had a Zinus for about 3 years now and still LOVE it! Screw paying 2 grand when there is something like this for about 500 bucks!

On our second one. First is fine, but was a bit hard. We put a soft topper and all was fine. Cost was like $300 from Amazon. Forget the name. Had slept on it about two years and was ok.
Our second one, from Amazon, same thing, hard, had to get a topper for it. Only reason for the second one was we went with a king size full adjustable bed. I was in need of a hospital bed. This one is only a couple months old, but ok with it. Cost for complete bed and adjustable base was around $600.

After tons of research we went with the memory foam wrapped coils in the Allswell about 6 months ago.
It was great at first, very firm and supportive. 6 months later it’s starting to break in and there’s a lot less of that firmness and supportiveness.
I don’t recommend allswell.

I bought one on Amazon and specifically paid for the cooling mattress. They sent the same size but without the cooling layer. They gave me the option to sleep on it a week amd decide if I wanted to keep it free r they’d pay the send the new cooling one or refund my money. I took the free mattress and refund. No regrets at all.
I was one of the cheaper ones, around $400 for a queen. I can find the name if you want but you may be after higher quality. It’s been 2 years now though and I’m plenty satisfied, but I did sleep on a jail metal rack for a month then a small piece of foam for 9 more so I may not be the best to judge.
