Not only do they weird me out, but I inherently judge them as weird, emotionally insecure people. Then, when they comment on pictures or post articles, I wonder..."did they both agree to comment or post that article? who gets control of the posting privileges?"

No, quite the opposite. Easier to manage one account than two separate ones, especially if you don't look at it often. Also, if you are married, then you know most of the same people (or know of them) anyway, so who cares...keeps everything on one account.
